What is a wedding QR code?
A wedding QR code is a scannable code that guests use to instantly share photos that they treasure from your wedding to a dedicated album. When scanned with any smartphone camera, it opens an upload page – no app download required. Photos can be displayed on a live slideshow during the reception, creating an interactive experience for all your guests (free with all takeNplace Weddings packages)
How much do wedding QR codes cost in Ireland?
Wedding QR codes in Ireland typically cost between €59-€149. takeNplace offers three packages:
- Digital DIY Package (€59): Printable QR code template, unlimited photo uploads, live slideshow feature
- Premium Printed Cards (€129): 40 professionally printed table cards, unlimited uploads, live slideshow
- Luxury Wedding Gift box (€179): 50 professionally printed table cards with stands, unlimited uploads, live slideshow
All packages include photo storage for 90 days after your wedding.
Do guests need to download an app?
No app download is required. Guests simply scan the QR code with their phone’s built-in camera, which opens a web page where they can upload photos directly. This works on all iPhones and Android phones without installing anything – making it easy for guests of all ages to participate.
How does the live slideshow work?
The live slideshow displays guest photos in real-time as they’re uploaded throughout your wedding day. Simply connect any screen, TV, or projector to the slideshow URL provided with your package. Photos appear automatically within seconds of being uploaded, creating an engaging backdrop for your reception.
How long are wedding photos stored?
Photos are stored securely for 7 days after your wedding date. This gives you plenty of time to download all the photos from your guests. The QR code remains active during this period, so any late uploads from guests are still captured.
Can I customise the QR code design?
Yes! With the Premium Printed Cards package, you can choose from several elegant designs that complement your wedding theme. The Digital DIY package includes a customisable template that you can adjust to match your wedding colours and style.
What if my venue has poor WiFi?
Guests can upload photos using their mobile data connection (3G/4G/5G), so venue WiFi is not essential. Most guests have mobile data on their phones. For the live slideshow, we recommend a stable internet connection – speak to your venue about their WiFi or consider a mobile hotspot for the display device.
How many photos can guests upload?
There is no limit on the number of photos guests can upload. All takeNplace packages include unlimited photo uploads, so every guest can share as many memories as they like throughout your wedding day and evening.
Is it GDPR compliant?
Yes, takeNplace is fully GDPR compliant. As an Irish company, all data processing complies with EU data protection regulations. Guest photos are stored securely, and couples have full control over their wedding album. We do not share or sell any data to third parties.
How do I download all the photos?
You will receive access to a private dashboard where you can view and download all uploaded photos. You can download individual photos or the entire album as a ZIP file. We recommend downloading your photos within the 7-day storage period.
Can I use it for the day-after party or other events?
Absolutely! Your QR code works for any event during the 7-day active period. Many couples use it for rehearsal dinners, the main wedding day, and day-after celebrations. All photos go to the same shared album.
Do you deliver to Northern Ireland and the UK?
Yes, we deliver throughout Ireland (including Northern Ireland) and the UK. Digital packages are delivered via email within 24 hours. Premium Printed Cards are shipped via tracked delivery and typically arrive within 5-7 business days.
How far in advance should I order?
For Digital DIY packages, you can order anytime – even last minute, as delivery is via email within 24 hours. For Premium Printed Cards, we recommend ordering at least 2 weeks before your wedding to allow for printing and delivery time.

What is your refund policy?
We offer a full refund on all packages if requested within 14 days of purchase and before the QR code has been activated.
